We approached Dan Pries from Radiance Honey around 3 years ago to arrange placing hives on our land to help with pollination of our crops. It’s worked brilliantly for both of us. We get beautiful honey to sell, and lots of lovely fruit, vegetables and flowers – and Dan gets to increase his colonies.
These bee keeping experiences are mornings or afternoons at a cost of £65 pp, which includes your meal at Sianie’s Kitchen.
On arrival at our barn, you will meet our beekeeper Dan, and enjoy a welcome refreshment and a home made AGA bake.
You will then change in to the supplied full PPE Equipment before making your way to Dan’s hives located near our kitchen garden.
Under Dan’s expert supervision, you will experience some real beekeeping including:
Look for our Queens.
Watch new bees emerge.
Marvel at the colour of stored pollen.
Take as many Photos and Videos up close as you want to.
You will then return to our barn for a Ploughman’s Lunch or Afternoon Tea.
